Behind the Cakes

Caroline's Story

A bit about Caroline's Cupcakes Journey

An Idea is Born

Caroline Shaw is the owner of Caroline's Cupcakes and is a home based cake business in Kirkheaton, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Caroline started her business in 2011 when she decided to leave her full time job as a Legal Secretary to bake and design bespoke cakes for all occasions.

Caroline has loved baking since she was a little girl and having the opportunity to turn her hobby and passion into a career was truly amazing. She never imagined that she would be running a successful cake business as an award winning cake decorator.

Caroline is self-taught and her love and passion of baking has been shown, the business has gone from strength to strength with her bespoke celebration cakes being enjoyed throughout Yorkshire.

Works of Art

Caroline has been told on my occasions that her cakes are works of art. She loves being creative and is such a perfectionist, every cake has to be as perfect as the last one and this definitely shows in the end result.

Caroline uses the finest ingredients that make the most delicious and moist cupcakes and cakes ensuring they taste every bit as good as they look.

Whatever the occasion, Caroline can create a centrepiece that is sure to impress all your guests.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Caroline using the methods shown on the contact page.

Caroline's Cupcakes is registered with Kirklees Food Hygiene Department and has been given a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.

Cake International

In November 2017 Caroline entered her first cake competition in Birmingham at Cake International, the worlds largest cake competition and won a silver award, it has to be the most proudest moment of her life and a day she will never forget.

In November 2019 Caroline entered Cake International again and won another silver award (just four points off a gold!!) and also came second in her category.
